Jun 09, 2010 · After it's last ride the ignition switch was left on overnight in a bad rainstorm and since then I have no power to the starter. The trim works fine and ignition lights come on as normal. I wanted to see if there is a way to simply bypass the starter switch to see if that's the problem before ordering a new one - but I don't want to screw ... Aug 18, 2017 · Basically, a solenoid is there to move electrical current to the starter. This makes it an absolutely crucial part of a working vehicle or any other project that requires power from a battery to a starter. If it starts, replace solenoid, if it doesn't could still be the starter at this point, but a solenoid should only be like $30, and although not returnable, it should be easy adaptable to almost any machine out there, even non-Polaris. Make sure battery is fully charged, then have shop load test it. Should be a free test. If it fails, replace.
