Traction control doesn't work on my LE anyway! Not bothered as I'm used to driving cars without it. Mine merrily wheelspins when pulling away and will spin the tyres up when changing gear upto 50mph on a damp road, spins when driving onto or off wet grass verges and generally shows no signs of having traction control.

By pressing the button on the ICC (head unit) it would switch traction control off and therefore turn the light on in the instrument cluster. If you're starting the car and the light is automatically coming on then yes there is a fault or someone has somehow disabled traction control. Hope that helps a little with how the system should work.

Re: Disconnecting Traction Control Pico I am assuming you have an automatic with the separate button for locking the centre differential. Otherwise the stubby lever locks the centre diff when you go from H to HL (high range locked centre diff) to N (not going nowhere) to LL (low range locked centre diff).

  • Why have that button without a decent explanation of when to push it? The button is really there for cases when traction control is not desired. Our 09 has the same button, and I have never turned it off. I doubt very much it will impact fuel consumption either way, as it only works when traction is lost to start with.

  • This is your VSC (vehicle stability control) kicking in. You can have your dealer "zero point calibrate" to compensate the new tires but in the meantime you can also partially disable it. * While the truck is running and stopped push and hold the VSC button for 5 seconds or so.

Every time I launch without traction control it always seem's to spin more and usually takes longer to gain speed. When I launch with it on I still seem to spin and I kind of get a sort of "Errr" when I shift from 1st-2nd and I can notice some loss in power from it.

VDC and traction control are related, but separate . Turning the VDC off will not completely turn off the traction control. But it will let the truck slide sideways more. So if playing in the mud, you can turn it off. IT basically counteracts swaying, meant for trailering. Jan 15, 2012 · don't be without it. Rev'ing and spinning does shit except get you more stuck. Just turning the switch off, doesn't completely turn it off. It will still kick in if your tires spin a lot. With the turner, you can set it too "off", but you still have to turn it off every time, you start your car. It just turns it completely off, now. :no Umm...either you don't own a...
