Custom cabinets are built to fit so spacers like this aren't required, but with standard cabinet sizes you almost always have to make up the gap with trim. Cabinet manufacturers anticipate this, and offer filler boards in various widths.
Nov 30, 2019 · The main wall of my kitchen is 11.5 ft tall. My cabinets are the tall 45″ cabinets. I am not putting a soffit above them. So my question is…..would it look good to put the subway tile above my cabinets on that wall up to the ceiling (as well as for the regular backsplash) , or is that too weird? Just wondering if you have ever seen that done.

Apr 25, 2011 · The space above my cabinets is only about 11" so its tough to find stuff that works up there. Right now I have all my wine/beer/champagne and other assorted glassware up there with rope lights behind. I used styrofoam cut to fill the recess on top of the cabinets and covered them with cheap aluminum foil.
